Planning a wedding can be fun and exciting. It can also be overwhelming and stressful. Having a hair/makeup artist on your wedding morning allows you to relax, enjoy your day, and know that you will look and feel your best. Here are answers to some questions about why you should work with me.
HOW DO I CONTACT YOU?
I am always available by email, text message, or phone call if my Guests of Honor have any questions or concerns leading up to the wedding day. I will stay in contact with you from our initial consultation through your wedding day.
WHERE DO YOU WORK?
I am an on-site hair and makeup artist, so I will travel to wherever you are getting ready. This eliminates additional travel and allows you and your wedding party to spend time together and enjoy getting ready.
I can also provide services in my suite in Springfield where 3 people may sit comfortably at one time. For larger parties, please stagger your arrival time (there are two bathrooms and other waiting areas).
WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED?
I include a Look Preview (hair/makeup trial before the wedding) for all my Guests of Honor. This is an interactive and collaborative experience where we talk through all your inspiration pictures and customize your wedding look. I value your honest feedback. Having this open communication helps us to create a look that you really love.
After the Look Preview, I encourage you to wear your look during the day, take pictures in different lighting and let me know if there is anything you want to adjust for the wedding day look.
As a Violet & Lavender Guest of Honor, you will receive our exclusive Guest of Honor Prep Guide. This includes information about skin/haircare, what to look for in your hair and makeup inspiration photos, preparation for waxing, and more. The guide will help you prepare for your hair and makeup services on your big day. For a sneak peak of the exclusive Guest of Honor Prep Guide, see our 2-page Mini Prep Guide brochure.
I will create a detailed timeline of hair/makeup services, giving buffer time in case things aren’t going exactly to plan, plus I factor in time for everyone to change and be ready for the next item on the itinerary.
WILL MY HAIR AND MAKEUP LAST?
A wedding is a long day and having a hair/makeup artist will ensure the best longevity for your hairstyle and makeup look.
- I will use products and techniques to increase the longevity of your makeup and hair. Your hair and makeup look will take much longer to apply than a 15-minute everyday look. Please see our Pricing page for timing of each service.
- FOR MAKEUP:
- I will apply customized skincare (for the Guest of Honor), use a primer, use a setting powder, and finish with a setting spray.
- You will also get a touch-up kit to take with you so you can reapply your lip color, blot, and reapply powder.
- FOR HAIRSTYLING:
- I use professional hair products to prep your hair before, during, and after your hairstyle.
- I use techniques to keep your bobby pins secure and the shape of your hair consistent throughout the day.
- FOR MAKEUP:
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR HAIR/MAKEUP SERVICES?
Longevity for hair and makeup means that you must prep skin and hair properly before I start application or styling. The biggest rules are:
- clean and dry hair
- clean skin with no traces of previous makeup
